Climbing Waves

I made this mosaic of two climbing waves during a workshop taught by Yulia Hanansen (Mosaic Sphere Studio) at the Society for American Mosaic Artists (SAMA) summit in Houston his past May.  It took me some time after the workshop was over to finish the piece and I decided to have it framed as well.  It was created using a variety of different glass (stained glass, iridized glass, etc) and I incorporated the colour gradation technique that I’ve been working on to differentiate between the deeper waters and the whitecaps of the waves.
